Franklin family’s dogs taken by animal officer, placed with new owners

FRANKLIN, Maine — Last fall, the Warren family had two Golden Retrievers, Bella and Jake, that were considered integral members of a household which includes four young children.

Now the dogs have been placed with a new owner somewhere in New England after they took off from the Warrens’ yard in early November and failed to return.

From Service Dog to SURFice Dog!

Ricochet's path in life was to become a service dog, and help a person with a disability.  But, as he grew, so did his interest in chasing birds & other critters, which is a no no for services dogs. So his title went from service dog to SURFice dog!

Surf dog Ricochet

He's best known for his inspirational video that went viral on YouTube!  It has over 3 million views so far!  WOW!!!He's the only known dog in the world that surfs tandem with special needs kids & people with disabilities for therapeutic purposes!  Ricochet lives a lifestyle of helping others by "paw"ing it forward while raising awareness/funds for human/animal causes.
It touched the hearts of people all over the world, bringing them to tears. Kleenex alert!

He surfs for fun & wins surf dog contests too!

A rescue networking page was also started  where rescue groups can network, post about their animals, etc.

"Ricochet's Rescue & Resource Page"... check it out & help save animal lives.
My focus is on assisting the disabled community, in a non traditional SURFice dog kind of way through Puppy Prodigies, a 501(3) non profit organization that trains service dogs! I've raised more than $75,000 over the last 16 months, and I'm ready to raise more!
SurfDog Ricochet has been featured in hundreds of local, regional, national and international media outlets, such as the Associated Press, CNN, USA Today, Fox, CBS, ABC, newspapers, magazines, and many, many more, which you can see on his website www.SurfDogRicochet.com
Ricochet has been awarded several top fundraiser awards, a few top dog awards, like "pet of the year", "most charitable dog", and "dog of the year".   He's won the prestigious 2010 American Kennel Club award for canine excellence in the category of exemplary companion. (Only 5 dogs per year win this award!)
Since the video has gotten so much exposure, it was immediately turned into a platform to help others on a larger scale by re-directing the attention to additional human and animal causes.  It's inspiring people to allow themselves and others be who they truly are... without judgment or intention to change and to focus on what they CAN do, which allows for a celebration of amazing outcomes!
