Franklin family’s dogs taken by animal officer, placed with new owners

FRANKLIN, Maine — Last fall, the Warren family had two Golden Retrievers, Bella and Jake, that were considered integral members of a household which includes four young children.

Now the dogs have been placed with a new owner somewhere in New England after they took off from the Warrens’ yard in early November and failed to return.

Fine Art Photographer, Stacey P. Morgan's “Pet Project” will Support the Troops

Philadelphia, PA (June 17, 2011) - Fine art photographer, patriot and pet-lover, Stacey P. Morgan will launch a series of “PAWtriotic” greeting cards and a 2012 calendar on the 10th Anniversary of the September 11 tragedy.

The cards feature Ms. Morgan’s 10-year-old dog, Delta, photographed saluting the American Flag at various historical locations. A portion of the proceeds will benefit America’s VetDogs, www.VetDogs.org, a national non-profit based in Smithtown, NY. VetDogs.org trains and partners assistance dogs to veterans with disabilities and active service members free of charge. These dogs perform tasks such as balance and retrieval, support for PTSD and traumatic brain injury, as well as seizure alert to name a few.

“For Christmas 2009, I bought my dog, Delta, a beautiful hand-knit sweater with the American Flag on it. In February 2010, I went door-to-door with my daughter as she sold Girl Scout cookies for the first time. There was an option to buy a box and send it overseas to our servicemen through the USO.  I was so touched by that idea, I wondered what I could do, as a photographer, to support our troops,” said Ms. Morgan.

Soon after, Ms. Morgan, a professional B&W film photographer for over 30 years, purchased her first digital camera. She took Delta dressed in the American Flag sweater to nearby Valley Forge Park to photograph with the new equipment. That day “Warm Your Hearts”, one of the first greeting cards, showcases him sitting proudly in front of a log cabin encampment.  The image sparked the idea of creating a “PAWtriotic” card line and seemed the perfect way to carry out her plan to “give back” to the troops.

Over the past year the line of fine art images has grown. Delta has done his duty  posing for Ms. Morgan at numerous historical locations in the Philadelphia area including: Valley Forge Park, The Freedoms Foundation, Valley Forge Military Academy & College, Paoli Massacre, Philadelphia National Cemetery, Historic Fort Mifflin, The Betsy Ross House and Independence Hall. Some other locations include The Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero.  A trip to Washington, DC, is in Delta’s future to add The Capital, The Wall and other national treasures where the American Flag is always seen flying high.

“It is my hope that the 'PAWtriotic' project will bring exposure to the wonderful partnerships between dog and man that America’s VetDogs is creating for some of our war veterans and ignite a feeling of patriotism that the American Flag personifies” said Ms. Morgan.

"Untited We Stand"

(Fragment from The World Trade Towers - 2010)
911 Memorial Park - Newtown, PA

THE SCOOP: The Garden of Reflection 911 Memorial in Bucks County is something to see (and to remember)!! The American flag was flown over ALL three crash sites from theat fateful day, and raised in tribute to the fallen. The hulking piece of metal seen in the background of "United We Stand" (an image that is part of stayMor.com's NEW "PAWtriotic" card line) is an actual steel beam from The World Trade Towers. There are propeller pieces from the airplane that went down at Shanksville, PA, and engraved names of all of the heroes from flight 93, as well as, all of the names of everyone killed in the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon on that horrific day!!

LIFE SNIPPET: I know most everyone in this country, let alone the world, remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing when the news reported the attacks!! It was such a surreal time. I myself had just delivered my boy/girl twins at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. They came early (August 26th and Aug. 27th) and the hospital required them to stay in the NICU (Neo-natal Intensice Care Unit) until thay reached 35 weeks old (gestationally speaking). So I would visit, rock, hold, take pictures (of course) and hang-out with them in the Stamford NICU everyday. Following the attacks of 9-11, there was a fury of activity at the hospital. The windows of the NICU overlooked the main parking lot, which started to be turned into a heli-pad to shuttle survivors to the hospital.

"I held my newly born twins and prayed for survivors from the debris. As the days wore on, my hope and the Nation's dwindled. It was replaced by a 2,973 body count of victims. "
